Trump Rallies End in Protest

So within the past week there has been an abundance of "drama" playing out in the media as it relates to the presidential campaign. Perhaps the biggest event that has happened recently was the Donald Trump rally that was shut down due to mass protesting that was taking place outside of the event before it even started. Similarly, there was an event that happened in Ohio where a protester yelled out something during Trump's speech forcing the secret service to come onto to stage and protect his back. With that being said, with all of the protests going on, and the frustrations that were apparent during the rallies I paid particular attention to how the events were covered by media outlets such as CNN. And to my surprise they actually covered it fairly well. Normally, when we see any type of protest on television there are always African American's shown as being violent, animalistic, or the aggressor in the situation. Similarly, we see the white person play the victim. However, a couple of days ago I saw something different. I saw the media doing a better job of covering the actions that took place outside of the convention center in Chicago. We saw white people inciting violence on black people and actually being held accountable for their actions, we saw ignorant white people being interviewed during the riots. We saw white on white crime. Yes there were certain scenes that integrated violence as it relates to African Americans; however, we saw a broader coverage of the event. So with that being said, is Donald Trump running a good thing? In that it is exposing the true feelings of America, while also somewhat bringing the country together. Also, is it changing the gatekeepers thoughts, and the medias coverage of news. Forcing it to be more objective?

  1. I think people are allowed to protest and express their opinion but some of the violent activity that went on shouldn't be apart of the movement.
