NC Transgender Bill

North Carolina’s Governor, Pat McCrory signed a bill a couple of days ago blocking cities from allowing transgender individuals to use the bathroom they identify with. Civil liberties groups are enraged that legislation pushed a bill undoing all nondiscrimination laws. Personally, I’m not sure which side to take, excluding transgender people from legal protection or infringing upon my privacy. This bill definitely takes a stand for the gender binary and further invisibilizes the LGBT community.

  1. I agree that this new bill does invisibilizes the LGBT community because I highly doubt the State will create restrooms for transgender men and women. I'm assuming transgender individuals in NC are expected to only use private restrooms.
