Can you be gay and Sports Star?

In the past week media has been focusing on Odell Beckham Jr. every move. Just 2 days ago OBJ and August Alsina took a picture together and media outlets had a frenzy with it. They two weren't kissing, holding hands, or hugging, but their close nature caused the news to ponder on whether or not those two are in a intimate relationship. This has led me to believe that if OBJ were to come out, his view as NFL great would be tarnished. He wouldn't be the face of NFL and potentially would lose the endorsements he is receiving now as the NFL's next big star. This shows where we are as sports fans and community. We aren't ready to open our masculine sports to the LBGTQ community and believe that they can be great in athletics too.
