No Transfer for Blacks

At Gateway Science Academy in St. Louis, MO, you are not allowed to transfer into that school if you are black and out of its district. This law wasn't commonly known or used until 9 year old, Edmund Lee, who attended this school before his family moved , and his story was told. The rule stems from desegregation laws from 30 years ago. The family is working to fight against the rule and get state legislation to amend all the old and useless rules that were written years ago.
