This month, NBCBLK, NBCLatino, and NBC Asian America are partnering with Ms. Foundation For Women for #31daysoffeminsim, according to NBC.com.
This is an effort to bring attention to women of color who spend their lives working for equality. It is great that a major media outlet, NBC, is calling attention to women of color (a group that is double oppressed in society to do their intersecting identities. However, it doesn't seem that there will be specials on their primary channel about these women, rather on their channels geared towards minority groups.
This is the step in the right direction - so many women and so many women of color have done great things to make this world a more humane and equal place. However, I hope that next March even more media outlets celebrate women of color.
