Donald Trump Strikes Again

To be honest, I am a little sad that I have resorted to Donald Trump as a blog topic. The man is getting what he wants: media attention. Still,  it is important to point out the outrageousness of his comments. In a recent tweet, he threatened to "spill the beans" on Ted Cruz's wife. Trump than proceeded to retweet a photo of a side by side of Melania and Heidi Cruz. This is pitting these women against each other. Cruz went on to say that "real men don't attack women." Trump is demeaning these women by essentially telling them looks are all that matters. Our potential Republican candidate is heavily employing the "male gaze" here by implying that his wife's looks are far superior to Cruz's, and that is why Trump believes his wife to be better. This is disgusting and once again a horrible move by Trump.
