Freedom At Last

Andre Hatchett, from Brooklyn, NY, was released from prison recently after he served 25 years in prison. He is one of many prisoners who were wrongfully convicted, based on false pretenses in their cases. During his case, information was left out and both times he wasn't adequately represented by his defense lawyers, which led to him being wrongly convicted in the murder case. Mr. Hatchett was happy about his release , but upset that 25 years of his life was taken away from him. He thinks that his race, may have led to his conviction. Over the past 10 years, we have seen countless number of cases of men who have been wrongly convicted. Many of these men being black, shows how race played into the judicial decision during the 1980's and 1990's.
