Recently, North Carolina passed a bill that would require transgender
individuals to use bathrooms based on their gender identity assigned at birth.
This has sparked significant controversy among the LGBT communities as well as
parents concerned about their kids using bathrooms with transgender individuals.
Personally, I am curious in seeing how corporations, universities, and public events
will change their procedures based on this law. From an article, I read on CNN
about this recent bill it said that “gays and lesbians are excluded from discrimination
protection. It also eliminates recourse for anyone fired from their job for
race, religion, color, or handicap.” This law obviously has a tremendous effect
on many individuals throughout North Carolina as well as the LGBT community.
