New NCAA LGBTQ Law

Earlier this week, the NCAA voted against hosting events in places with anti-LGBTQ policies (here in North Carolina). This is bad for North Carolina because March Madness was scheduled here for next year. I am very curious to see what the NCAA does with these new policies, and see if North Carolina will change these new laws.

  1. I think it is important that businesses and events continue to boycott North Carolina in order to put enough economic pressure on the state to overturn HB2. As upsetting as it is that March Madness can no longer occur in North Carolina, this was an event that would bring in immense revenue. Thus, it is possible this could bring the state into reconsidering the negative reproductions of their discrimination in a way they could understand- economically.
