Free the Nipple vs. Facebook

This week, the New Hampshire House rejected a bill that would have made it illegal for women to show their nipples in public. The rejection of bills like this one, and the Free the Nipple Movement, work together to empower women and gain gender equality. Despite the support for the Free the Nipple Movement, sites like Facebook still ban showing women's nipples. In response to this, Mic made a comedic video discussing the ways to get around showing women's nipples on Facebook. The media, including social media sites like Facebook, are direct reflections of our progress in society. Despite New Hampshire rejecting a bill to make women showing their nipples in public illegal, the fact that women cannot show their nipples on Facebook pushes the movement backwards. It gives the message to Facebook users that even though it is not illegal, it is wrong.
