Jones explains his decision to wear Caucasians shirt on ESPN

Bomani Jones, a well known sports journalist, wore a controversial shirt on an ESPN show called "Mike and Mike." The shirt, a spin on the Cleveland Indians logo, said "caucasians." This is an important moment in the fight against mascots. Jones explains“To have a problem with the the logo of this (pointing to his shirt) would be to have a problem with the Indians. But if you’re quiet about the Indians but have something to say about my shirt, I think it’s time for introspection.” I think that Jones actions were important and his quote is telling. Using a group of people as a mascot is insulting to them and their culture. It is time for us to stop trivializing Native Americans and I am so glad Jones wore what he did!
