This afternoon, as many people know, was the democratic debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. However, also during the afternoon was a press conference where the Congressional Black Caucus PAC announced its endorsement for Hillary Clinton as President. During the press conference, John Lewis he dismissed Sanders participation in the civil rights movement saying," I never saw him, I never met him. I am a chairman of the Student Nonviolent coordinating committee for three years, from 1963-1966... But I met Hillary Clinton. I met President Clinton." This slamming of Bernie Sanders could have influence over African-American voters as they decide who to vote for in a close race for the Democratic Representative in the next Presidential election. Change needs to be made as racism is still an issue in America, so Bernie and Hillary's involvement and likelihood to make a change for the better with race in the USA is a key topic in the voting for Democratic representative. The media came out with the headline that John Lewis slammed Bernie Sanders. This headline is a bit misleading because John Lewis only mentioned that he had not met Bernie but knew the Clinton's and how active they were. This headline however could have impact on Bernie's votes because of the little influence it now seems Sanders had on the civil rights movement.
