Being in Vegas for  is amazing for so many reasons... Especially when you get to meet @HillaryClinton!

(CNN)Britney Spears met Hillary Clinton in Las Vegas Thursday night, but didn't officially endorse the presidential candidate. Spears posted two photos with Clinton on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, originally using the #ImWithHer hashtag on Instagram before editing the post and removing it. The #ImWithHer hashtag is used by her endorsers and supporters on social media. Spears tweeted, "Being in Vegas for #PieceOfMe is amazing for so many reasons... Especially when you get to meet @HillaryClinton!"

Here's a prime example of female encouragement. A female celebrity isn't tearing down a political figure instead she is promoting her. This defies the stereotype that women hate to see other women in a position of power. But this isn't what this story is about. The problem is that a celebrity made the news because of who she posted a picture with. Should we advertise stories about who celebrities are voting for? Is this considered a news worthy story? Many say no because this isn't news and should be posted in a gossip magazine instead of CNN. In our society what is considered news is changing from what it was 10 years ago.

  1. I think it is sad that it takes celebrity endorsement to gain attention for important topics, but I also think it is necessary. Celebrities, whether we like it or not, have a ton of power and people will listen to them, even over Politicians. I agree that it may influence people to just do things their favorite celebrities are doing, but I hope there is some hope that it just makes people more aware of the subject(s) and do their own research on it.
