Shake-up at ABC: Channing Dungey becomes first African American to lead a major TV network, Paul Lee resigns
The title of this article says it all, "Shake-up at ABC: Channing Dungey becomes first African American to lead a major TV network, Paul Lee resigns". As we discussed in class many times before, many of the major networks that produce the media that we view, are owned by older white men. Our perceptions of society are shaped around their views through media. Women and minorities have not been provided the same opportunities to lead these major networks until now. As a Black woman, Channing Dungey has broken those barriers this week as she has been named ABC Entertainment Network's first African-American president.
