Giuliani Calls out Beyonce's Super Bowl Performance

While there has been much discussion and controversy regarding Beyonce's performance at the Super Bowl halftime show Sunday night, one of the most striking figures that has released their criticism is former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani. As many know, the performance alluded to the Black Panthers and Malcom X as an "attack" on police officers. "This is football, not Hollywood, and I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive." Many viewers and social media activists have taken a page out of Guliani's book in terms of releasing criticisms and questioning the appropriateness of the performance. The former mayor raises an interesting point that appears to be receiving an excessive amount of attention from the media in that the idea behind the performance insinuates an attack on the police force, while in reality Beyonce herself utilizes and supports the police force in order to live her daily life. This performance has created quite the controversy and there are several different opinions and interpretations regarding the meaning behind the performance and the appropriateness of the event.
