The Race Card Pulled at a Utah Bar
At Willie's bar in Salt Lake City, Utah, two Polynesian men were not served because of their race. These two men had their ID's checked by a bartender, and then were asked if they were Polynesian. They responded that they were, and then they were informed that they couldn't be served due to their race. Before leaving the bar, one of the men took a video, and put in online. The video then went viral. The owner of the bar was interviewed the next day, and he claimed that he wasn't racist at all. He stated that his bartenders have the right to kick anyone out of the bar if they feel scared or intimated, no matter the race. This video received ample amounts of attention on social media, and that was a large reason why it made the news in Salt Lake city. This is one example of how social media can inflame racism, and show the world what is happening behind the scenes.

It's always interesting to see how people respond to these situations after they are videotaped and put online. There's a fine line between feeling uncomfortable and being racist, and clearly the line was crossed in this situation. However, it's easy for the bartender to use fear as an excuse because it is not a measurable factor.
