Pantene Commercial Breaking Barriers

Pantene released commercials for the Super Bowl that involved the football players and their beautiful daughters. It was more of an experiment where the football player had to do their daughter's hair. Pretty simple. The dads could do whatever was easiest for them. I found myself smiling and thinking it was a very cute commercial. But his commercial just redefines the stereotypes that are already there: it is up to the mother to take care of the children while the father works and makes all the money. I was surprised by this commercial that the dads really had never done their daughters hair. Personally, my dad played in the NFL and he still loved to braid my hair and brush through it. But this was the first time I had to catch myself and think about the underlying stereotypes that were very present in the commercial since I started this class.
