  In this article by BET.com, Grammy-nominated Jazmine Sullivan compares her music to Adele's and how she has not reached the same level of success as popular soulful singers.  Intersectionality of being a Black female in the music industry has made it difficult for Jazmine Sullivan to be accepted in the same light as Adele.  She is frustrated, but glad that others are beginning to recognize the injustice in how Black soul artists are perceived.   Jazmine says that she will continue to keep a positive attitude and not focus on being marginalized by her skin color in hopes that her music will continue to inspire her fan base.
