On February 4th, 2016, Johnny Manziel ended up in the news once again from the continuous pattern of off-the-field issues. This past Thursday it was reported that Manziel allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, where she claimed he forced her into his car and said, "Shut up or I'll kill us both." Sources told the news Manziel had first threatened to kill himself only before threatening Crowley's life. Crowley told sources Manziel may have been on drugs or having a psychotic breakdown. In this case this is a story of a great athlete that was once viewed in the public's eye as an all-american quarterback that was placed on a pedestal at a young age after winning the Heisman Trophy as a true freshman. The public admired his role as a football player giving him various nicknames such as "Johnny Football" or "Money Manziel" but he was given this fame at such a young age. The media never really knew his personal life they only saw the great things he was doing as a quarterback until the fame went to his head. This issue shows how the public's opinion can transform due to the fact the media went from headlining his name as a golden child to currently only mentioning the negatives when he runs into problems within his life, now labeling him as the problem child.
