This year, Sports Illustrated is going off the norm and including much more diversity within their magazine issue. This issue includes an older women which has never been seen in the Swimsuit edition ever, her name is Nicola Griffin. Model Ashley Graham continues to break down body-image barriers, one photo shoot at a time. The plus-size model made history last year after she appeared as the first plus-size model in an ad for Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue. This year, she will be one of the stars. Plus-size model Precious Lee is featured in an ad in the Swimsuit issue for Lane Bryant. The model said confidence is a strength she works on building every single day.
“Can’t in my household was like saying a curse word so I’ve built on that through the years,” Lee said. “[Confidence] takes practice every single day.”These movements forward for diversity in modeling is only the start of a push towards more diversity in the industry
