CHIRAQ... Possible Reality?
Chi-Raq, directed by Spike Lee, was released December 4, 2015 and unlike any other Spike Lee movie didn't have cultural meaning. The movie is based of the recent killings in Chicago and the media naming the city "Chi-Raq" mimicking Iraq. The strong sexuality of the women in the movie is supposed to stop all the killings by the woman holding out sex until all gang war ceases. As the movie is suppose to show the power of women on men, it only shows how the only power black women have is their body. It doesn't show the intelligence aspects of the characters or dig deep into the main reasons of the gang violence in Chicago. Also, the movie digs into all the stereotypes of black women and men in the ghetto.
